We love plants and gardening, so when we started making ceramics at Anchor, it seemed only natural that we would make planters for the herb, succulents and other plant friends that we surround ourselves with. Our starting point was that most common of garden containers, the terracotta pot. What has eveloved is our take on that traditional form, a simple cylinder with an undercut and drainage hole to the base. In keeping with our traditional precedent, the planters are made in terracotta as well as a range of other glaze finishes in a mix of sizes. The planters can be arranged in beautiful clusters with their different diameters and heights or work equally as well as stand alone items.
The planters are all thrown by hand on a potter's wheel and finished in glazes we have carefully developed and tested in the Anchor glaze lab. Each glaze finish is the result of countless hours of testing and refinement and is designed to complement both the clean geometric shape of the planter and colours of the plants that will ultimately sit within. The glaze colours are also designed to complement many of the other items in the Anchor product range including lighting, tiles and outdoor furniture
