Anchor Table
Continuing Anchor’s investigation into the design potential of ceramic as a material, this collaboration with Grazia & Co. built on the studio’s ongoing exploration of surface, structure, and form.
The outdoor tables were the first in a series of furniture items that looked to take full advantage of the hand-cutting and glazing techniques the studio utilises. Each step of the production was undertaken by hand and the finished surface was a combination of unique parts, rich with the subtle variations produced by this kind of intensive making process.
The table’s ceramic surfaces had refined textures and a distinct hand formed aesthetic, which offered a balance between colour, texture, durability and gloss level. A stainless steel, powder coated base provided both support and edge protection for the ceramic surface.
