Tableware
The simple, geometric forms of Anchor’s tableware range were hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel and made in limited quantities.Designed from a sensory perspective, the range was tactile to the touch and the forms refined to highlight the inherent beauty of the food being served on them.
Each piece could be used independently or interchangeably. Three bowl and plate types in small, medium and large sizes had the same diameter at the rim but tapered purposefully to the base to allow each piece to be stacked in, or on, another. A serving jug in two sizes, a tumbler and a teacup completed the range.
Made using high-quality Australian stoneware clays, each object was imbued with a subtle difference in finish and form inherent to an authentically handmade object. After an initial firing, the works were hand-finished with glazes developed specifically for the collection. A second firing to 1,280 degrees C matured the glaze and finalised the piece.
