Undercut Planter
The Undercut Planters were hand-thrown on a potter’s wheel and made in limited quantities. Designed with a carefully considered form and a surface rich with texture, each planter was its own unique object.
The Undercut range was originally conceived in terracotta and as a reworking of the ubiquitous terracotta pots and pipes typically found in our gardens. It then evolved to include two different formats in six sizes and six different finish options. Each glaze finish was the result of countless hours of testing and refinement and had been designed to complement both the clean geometric forms of the planters, and the plants that would ultimately nest within them.
The Undercut planters were available in small, medium and large sizes with two format options - low or tall, within each size. Rather than being made to an exact dimension, the planters were thrown by hand using a specific weight of clay for each size. The sizing was judged by eye rather than specific measurements, which produced subtle size shifts within the small, medium and large size brackets making each planter truly unique.
